Best Buds’ Mission
Pet blood donations are crucial in many situations. Many pets may need transfusions due to trauma, surgeries, and illnesses.
Currently, there is no blood bank serving the state of Alabama. In emergency situations, blood is often overnighted—if the pet can survive that long.
We are building our donor program to serve this critical need in our community. Once established, we will deliver blood as needed to local veterinary clinics in the greater Birmingham area

We are seeking canine and feline donors in the greater Birmingham area.
Canine candidates must be 1-6 years of age and otherwise healthy. They should weigh over 60 pounds, with occasional exceptions.
Feline candidates must be 1-6 years of age and otherwise healthy. They should weigh over 10 pounds. Must be Indoor only.
We require proof of updated yearly vaccinations and preventive care. We will provide yearly blood screening and offer reimbursements for your pet's donations. We also offer FREE laser treatments for our pet donors.
